La Bagel Delight stands as a bustling gem in the heart of Brooklyn’s vibrant community, specializing in a delightful bagel shop experience that perfectly blends classic New York flavors with inventive twists. Situated at 284 7th Ave, this spot is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic bagels served with care and a touch of culinary creativity.
From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the vibrant energy of a place that’s truly alive. The air hums with the friendly chatter of staff and customers, a testament to the shop’s consistent popularity. While the pace can feel a bit brisk with a busy counter and eager patrons, the warmth of the employees quickly puts you at ease. You have the time to leisurely explore their extensive menu, which offers a compelling variety of options that go well beyond the traditional bagel.
The bagels themselves are nothing short of a revelation—freshly baked, warm with just the right crunch on the outside and soft, pillowy inside. Favorites such as the Everything Bagel Bacon and Eggs Cheese perfectly balance savory richness and a satisfying, hearty bite. The Cinnamon Raisin Bagel offers a sweet contrast, marrying fluffy texture with pockets of juicy raisins, ideal for a morning pick-me-up alongside their 16 oz Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, which customers rave about for its impeccable balance—neither too sweet nor too tart.
For those seeking heartier meals, the creative “Pork Slope” sandwiches deserve special mention. Indulgent options like the Pig Out BBQ Roast Loin of Pork with Grilled Onions and Mac n’ Cheese or the classic cubano-inspired The Cubano Roasted Pork, Ham, Pickles, and Melted Swiss Cheese deliver robust, layered flavors that satisfy true sandwich lovers. Meanwhile, the Hot Chicken Classics, like the ChaCha Chicken Sandwich with crispy chicken cutlet, smoked applewood bacon, and melted Gouda, add a delightful spicy crunch and melty cheesiness, creating a symphony of textures and tastes.
If you lean towards lighter or more traditional fare, you can’t go wrong with the beloved Lox and Bagels or the California Chicken Salad, both showcasing fresh ingredients and balanced flavors that appeal to both locals and visitors alike.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with ample seating toward the back of the shop that fosters a casual, comfortable environment perfect for anything from catching up with friends to a quick, satisfying meal. Although it’s perhaps not the ideal spot for focused study or work, La Bagel Delight thrives as a dynamic, community-oriented hub where excellent food and friendly faces come together.

Walking in, you could tell the place is ALWAYS busy. 6+ staff behind the counter asking everyone if their order was taken. People coming in and out the door. It can definitely be intimidating, but then you realize staff is super friendly and you can take your time to look at the menu while others already order their usual. The atmosphere was lively, with seating available in the back and around the corner. Service was quick and food was made fresh to order. Got the “One Sweet Pig” on an Onion Bagel - 2 fluffy eggs, sweet ham, maple brown sugar bacon, and white cheddar. It’s aptly named - sweet, hearty, and filling! Definitely going to have to come back and try the rest of the menu.
Pretty decent bagels. Freshly squeeze juice was also not bad at all. People who work here are nice and welcoming. I would not say that I would come here to sit down and study or work with my materials but good spot for grabbing go a bagel and refresher.
Great coffee, delicious bagels and an array of different cream cheese options. Yummy The employees are always pleasant and helpful.

Bagels for the first time - very tasty!!! As a German tourist, I was impressed: fresh bagels, quick preparation and super tasty! The staff were extremely polite and helpful. A great experience that I can recommend to everyone!
202405 Recommended by my Brooklyn-raised friend and I’ll owe my thanks to him. The bagel: proper bagel delight! Perfectly rolled and boiled and baked and toasted. Best Pumpernickel Everything I’ve had— the everything mix isn’t too overpowering and salty and onion-ly, and it actually goes well with pumpernickel, which I usually eat plain because it already has rye and caraway seed aroma. And look at the gorgeous texture!! The filling: Lovely tofu spread. Generous enough but not too thick. There are many other choices. The grill also looks amazing. The place: Wooden interior. Efficient staff. Clean restroom. I packed two bagels and after tasting another pair for my transatlantic flight :3
AH-MA-ZING gluten-free bagels! Soft, pillowy, and delicious! Lots of creative cream cheese flavors too (honey pecan was delish), and three tofu cream cheese options (tofu scallion was delish); plus TONS of other classic-NY-deli food options with bustling counter service. Found La Bagel thanks to someone else’s Google review saying the GF bagels were the best ever (thank you, stranger!), so sharing our validation (Note we are not celiac; not sure about allergy safety)
